Default Delorme InReach

Got one of these on the way. got a deal couldn't turn down. Plan to use the TowBoat app to get assistance offshore if needed.

2-way communication with emergency responders also.

anybody else out there got one?

Got one last year to replace a spot finder that I had for a number of years. Works great for me, have used it a lot down off the coast in Baja and no problems. Can leave a "Quick preset message" to let the other half all is well. Typically send out a position fix every hour or so. If iteniary changes I can text exactly what I need to say and get a response as well. Battery life is good and can't complain for me it's worth the money.

Only thing I could tell was the explorer version has the ability to create routes, waypoints and direct u where the se is just a commu icator.

If my only use was going to be for marine safety I would have gotten the se but I would like to be able to use it for backpacking also.

I love mine. Works great and paired to my cell phone its really easy to send and receive messages. Very inexpensive compared to the sat phone. I have the unlimited plan and everyone on the boat uses the crap out of it. Have not had a single problem with connectivity.
