Default Simrad Nss7 evo2?

Is it compatible with the bsm3? If it is, then it seems like it would be better than the Garmin units that aren't upgradable to the gsd26? Or is that power just not needed with chirp?

Yes, NSS7 Evo2 is compatible with BSM-3. The built in 1-channel CHIRP sounder in NSS Evo2 is very good, but of course good to know that the system can be expanded with a two channel CHIRP sounder later if needed.

Thank you. Not possible to run structure scan and chirp at the same time though correct?

Correct, but not a big problem. NSS Evo2 (as all Lowrance and Simrad sounders) is using very short pulses at the depths where StructureScan brings value so the reduction in resolution at these depths due to running fixed frequencies are inegligible.
