Default Raymarine C140W/CP300 Transducer?

Looking for advice on replacing my B744VL with a 1000W thru hull. I have a C140W with a CP300 sounder I fish in 100 to 600 ft of water and it's in a Tiara 3500. Would like something to fill the hole. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chuck

On a properly install B744 the stem hole is only 2".

A B164 is a 3 element flush mount transducer..6 times more sentive at 50 kHz than the B744.

An Airmar B260 is an 8 element 1 kw ducer..it has a 22" fairing...and is 50 times more sensitive at 50kHz than the B744.
An Airmar SS270W is 25 degrees....excellent coverage.
And the SS264N or W pair is an option.

Strictly a suggestion no expert here. I was in the same situation as you were with depths. I was recommended Airmar B270wide. Close to same price, wider cone angle. I would ask Gil at Semperfishing about it.

I have the same setup (c140w/ cp300) and have the b164. I've been very happy with it so far, fishing depths from 70- 1000 ft.

Thanks for the input. I fish 80% jigging in 100 to 200 ft of water and 20% in 400 to 600 ft of the choice between the B260 and the SS270W which would you recommend ?

Thanks,
Chuck

Crown Royal;

If you are asking me, with the boat you have, and the depths you fish, I would consider using the B270W. That way it can always be changed out for a B260.
Personally I would only use the B164 or the SS264W pair if it were on a large center console. Where the large fairing block would be a problem trailering. Your boat would be fine with large fairing block installed.

I think Semperfifishing gave you some good information.
