Default Simrad Blackbox and Transducer Help

Hi All

My contender 25t is finished and is just waiting on its 24" touch screen for its NSO Evo 2 system. It currently also has another couple of NSS Evo 2 9" displays on its second helm.

I have forgone getting a BSM-2 because of the imminent release of the BSM-3 and have instead put in a sonar hub to get me by in the meantime.

For transucers the dealer suggested the B175HW and the B175L. After doing some research i have found that the B175HW peforms really well but the B175L is getting terrible performance with the BSM-2.

What i would like to know is if anyone has run the B175L on either the built in sonarhubs in the NSS Evo 2 MFD's or the Sonar Hub and what there performance with it was like??

So far i can only find peoples experiences with the B175L on the BSM-2 which is well known for having problems.

Also not sure if anyone knows but is it likely that the BSM-3 will work better with the 1kw Low frequency transducers than its predeccesor??

Abbor says that the B75 (600w) transducers seem to work well with the simrad gear... am i better of downgrading the tranny while i can in the event that the 175L doesnt play well with either the sonar hub and the built in sonar hubs in the NSS's???

Thanks

Nathan

The low part of TM265LH works well with SonarHub and NSS Evo2, the B175L elements are not identical but they are not that different either so I would expect also B175L works well with Navico 1-channel CHIRP.

I see no reason get BSM-2 or 3 if you have two or more 1-channel CHIRP sounders (SonarHub or NSS Evo2).

Hi thanks for the info, in terms of structure detail what are your thoughts on the the 175HW ability to show detail in 90m will it average out the bottom to show much less detail at that depth? should i consider replacing the 175L with a TM265LH and switch between the High frequency elements depending weather i want bottom detail of fish finding ability.

cheers

At 90m all structure detail will he averaged out by B175H-W. A TM265LH connected to BSM-2 (or 3) and B175H-W connected to SonarHub or NSS Evo2 seem like an optimum setup (this is what I have). BSM-2 Sw 1,82 is according to several THT members a major improvement with 1 kW Low CHIRP, I will test this software during the weekend.
