Default Question dual fishfinders

Hi Guys-
Wonder if anyone can help me out here,I have a Furuno 582L at the lower helm and want to put another fishfinder up in the tower and somehow use the same transducer (I don't want to have to pull the boat out of the water to install another thru-hull).Is there another fishfinder out there that would use the same transducer plug so I could just buy an extension cable (if they make such a cable) and unplug the lower unit and plug it in to the tower unit when using the upper finder? Thanks very much guys.

The FCV 582L should be using a transducer with a 10 pin connector.

You can use another 582L or a FCV620,FCV627,FCV 585 ,FCV587 or a GP1970F.

The GP1870F now has a $150. rebate so that would put it in the mid $500 range.

Airmar makes a switchbox, Airmar SB260, that would not require you to plug/unplug every time. Gill could probably answer if the plugs fit the Furuno you want.

Wonderful, thanks guys.So I would need a 10 pin extension cable and the SB260 box-guess I'll have to do some research on where to find the extension cable.
