Default Help choosing a gps

Getting a new boat and want to upgrade my handheld gps to something I can mount in the boat. Getting a 20ft boat so nothing to big. My current handheld is a Garmin and I'd like to be able to easily transfer my spots over to the new unit if possible. Don't really need the depth finder just mainly looking for gps capabilities with the option of adding one of the coastal mapping cards down the road. Not looking to break the bank but, want something decent too. Was looking at the Garmin gpsmap 620 but, read some reviews about the screen not being bright enough out in the sun. Just wondering what you all would recommen.

Thanks

Do you just want GPS? If you would consider a combo, take a look at the 441s/541s series on the Garmin site. If you don't have a depth finder (I would recommend one) this is a relatively inexpensive way to kill 2 birds with one stone.

Will check those out. Mainly just looking for a gps. Haven't used my depth finder on my current boat in about 10 years. Didn't want to drill holes in the transom for a transducer that I probably wouldn't use. If the combo units would work without a transducer, they would definitely be an option. Just don't want to get some error message popping up for a transducer being disconnected.

Thanks
