Default Should I keep waiting for the NSS12 EVO2 ??

I have a new 28'CC that has had temporary gps/sonar electronics on it for three months now. The basic Lowrance gps/sounder was put in so I could wait for the (twin) Simrad NSS12 Evo2 screens that were supposed to be released on an ever changing date. Latest release date was last week but that doesn't look like it happened. ;? Still no delivery date and distributor is now suggesting that I shouldn't get one of these initial units as they will likely have bugs to work out. I don't have a plan B here but I think I need one as it's just not looking like this 12" Simrad Evo2 thing will ever happen. I was planning to go completely Simrad with 4G radar, autopilot, structurescan and twin 12" MFD screens. What alternatives should I look at?

The NSS12 last I heard was July 27. They are super sexy looking units. For your planned gear, I don't think any other manufacturer makes a package that will do as much without getting into seriously more money. Garmin 8000 series, GCV10, GSD26, 24xHD.

Oh yeah, Jim at BOE said he got a couple of units a few days ago. But it was a small initial shipment.

I too am waiting for my 12 to ship from BOE. I have a 7" (wish I could fit twin 12's), and I LOVE the 7, cant wait for the 12.

A few more weeks is worth the wait for electronics I will have as long as I own this boat.

I'd try to wait it out a bit longer. I've got one on order.

If you don't wait and change your mind - you will make someone else happy.

I have a 9" installed. LOVE IT. Waiting on a 12" from BOE. I can't wait. It would have been nice to have this morning and tomorrow, I'm checking the order status everyday.

I bought a 9" evo2 to have for a couple trips I have planned before the moving release date and absolutely love it! My plan is to purchase a 12 once they're available and sell the slightly used 9" once the other one comes in. Did I mention I LOVE the new evo2???

Thanks for everyone's input!
Looked at doing a complete switch to Garmin but I've decided to stay the course and wait for the 12" Evo2's. Frustrating, but it sounds like it will be worth the wait in the end. Just hope it works out that way!!

The 16's are big, played with one at the show today. The 12's look surprisingly small. I think it is their thin bezels. But the 9 holds it's own next to the 12.

I could fit one 16" and one 12" but the resolution of the 16's is not as good as the 12's so I am going with 2 12's which leaves me with a little more space for other toys.

The 16 has slightly more resolution but slightly less vertical pixels. Size is also helpful. The 9 is the same resolution as the 7, but the larger size screen is nice. Still not worth the premium they are asking for it though for 2"! I would probably go with 2 12's also though.'c just for balance.
