Default scool me on simrad nss radar, downscan

well im starting to my homework on the simrad nss series... my plan is over the winter to upgrade from my lowrance hds to the nss 10-12.. really want a nss12 dosn't matter if its evo or not.. im ok with last years model just really want to step up to the nss series.

i keep seeing radar setups when i look at simrad stuff.. allot are the bar style and a few are 4g,3g style..

what all is required to get radar networked in?
are the 4-6ft open array (bar style) radar compatible? would i need a box or do i need to stick with the 3g,4g setups?

i see it has downscan but i read people putting the lss2 structure scan boxes on...
if i went with a single transducer do i need a lss2 to use the down/side scan or is that only when running 2 transducers..

i would like to run the transom mount Lowrance lss2 transducer till i get the money for a thru hull.. i dont use both down/side at the same time so its not a huge deal to me off the bat.. (seen the twin with chirp on evo with twin transducers)

i guess im wondering what all should i expect.. should i wait to find a used one and jump on it or should i scale down to say nss10 evo..
do u think in 2015 the structure scan will be built in??? so i wont need the lss2box if i even need it..

just trying to wrap my head around the nss series... heck should i just hold out till spring 2015?? im going to fish what i have and buy stuff as i find it.. just need some direction.
