Default What is required to connect Mercury Smartcraft and Garmin speedo

On my BW Ventura 210 with 225 Verado and Mercury Smartcraft gauges, we are looking to connect the Mercury Smartcraft speedo gauge with the GPS speed reading from our Garmin GPS 498 unit. This is to get a more accurate reading and get rid of the 'Check Pitot' message that we frequently get.

The Garmin is currently connected with one cable to the transducer (at the back of the boat).

To connect the GPS from NEMA out from the Garmin to Smartcraft gauge, are any cables or wires required? The boat is stored abroad for the summer so I do not have the ability to check, any input is appreciated.

Go over to Verado.com and google there is a wealth of info on this subject. Very easy to hook up to the nema 0183 and do this.
