Default Advice on a sonar

Just upgraded to an offshore boat and fishing out of Mississippi. Only go out bout 35 miles and around 100ft of water. My problem is I want to be able to see the reefs and rocks on the bottom but don't know where to start looking and don't want to spend an arm and leg on it. Don't mind spending the money on good stuff but not a lot in the budget for a $3000 sonar

A Garmin 70s can use the GCV10 side and DownVu....that will give you great rock and bottom detail...and keep the $ super low.

Or step up to the 741xs or 840xs.

Also...

The Simrad NSS7eco2 or NSS9evo2.

Both of these manufactures have systems that will give you excellent bottom detail with their side and down units..and not break the bank.
