Default map sotware for Original IPad??

I have original iPad- can't download Navionics or anything new as it doesn't have new OS or whatever- glad I was an early adopter for Apple and now the thing is a Pandora player, any idea's?

p.s.- I will not buy new iPad that looks identical to the original b/c Apple tells me so. Droid forever- lifetime Apple ban (including the Fruit)

Inavx works with a first gen IPad. I don't think it's worth the $50 price tag.

you're mad that a mobile device released over 4 years ago doesn't have the latest OS and hardware (those kind of go hand in hand with mobile devices). Android realistically only has a 2 year OS update for the major manufacturers.

update for other iPad 1 owners- NOAA-Skipper works and is good for $10, not as good as Navionics- but fine for basic usage

I do not think any electronic purchase of $500 should be obsolete in 4 years, not a fishfinder- or a "pc alternative" like iPad- cell phone- that's expected- they are throw aways- I guess I also think they should really upgrade-change the product to expect a replacement purchase- not just thinner and better camera or whatever new widget.

So you're saying the hardware of mobile devices isn't vastly different from 4 years ago? It's just not possible to do all of the new features and apps on old hardware without making it be really slow. Same reason you can't do lowrance structuremap on an hds1. This technology is still in its infancy. Plus, if you want to compare it to computers, you usually have to upgrade the processor or video card to run the lastest games effectively if the computer is 4yrs old. You just can't upgrade the internals on a tablet or phone since they are all designed to be crammed into a tiny case with no connectors for expansion.
