Default Navionics iPad app resetting

I like to track our weekend cruises in a single track. Our weekends typically include an overnight on the hook and a couple of stops along the way out and back. I start and pause Navionics tracking at each stop so I'm only tracking time underway.

Lately when I "pause" the track for the overnight and come back the next morning to restart to begin tracking the cruise back, the app resets and forces me to start a new track. The reset sucks but I could deal with it if I could at least go back to the previous track and add the remaining leg. But I can't seem to do that. The app IS saving the prior days track, but I can't find a way to extend the track with today's route.

Any of you guys seeing this behavior from the app?

With our latest major 7.0 release of the Navionics Mobile Apps for iOS, there have been numerous significant changes, improvements and additional features. With our new enhanced Track modules you have more features available for reporting and playback; however, the option to continue a previously saved Track is no longer available. You can now Pause a current track and then restart the same track with the new version update.

To create a Track with the Navionics Mobile App:

1. Open the Navionics App on your Apple device

2. Tap "Start’"

3. Go fishing/sailing/cruising/etc. with the Navionics app running
Your tracking Dashboard is displayed at the top of your screen.
Tap a Dashboard square to change the display or access information.

4. To SAVE the Track, tap on "Stop" once again

5. Tap "Save" Track

6. To PAUSE the Track to resume at a later time, tap "Stop"
Then tap "Pause"
Tap "Resume" to begin tracking again
*The Navionics App can be sent to run in the background, but shutting off the device itself will not allow you to resume the previously paused track.

You can still follow saved Tracks by accessing them through your Archive (Menu > Tracks or Menu > Archive > Tracks). Select the Track you want from there by tapping on the name and you will see it in the Playback mode. You can then follow it on the screen of your device using your GPS.

Also, please note, the maximum number of track points the App will allow for is 4,000 per Track. This will generally approximate to 8-9 hours of tracking time in the Marine environment. If your Track meets this threshold, it will automatically be saved and a new Track will begin.

Thank you for your reply, I assume you work for Navionics?

I'm very aware of the pause and resume capability. And it works perfectly most of the time. But for some reason the app occasionally "resets" when I come back to the ipad. This is mostly when I've let the app sit idle overnight. I still use the ipad, just not for Navionics. But I never shut the Navionics app down, I just assume it's still running in the background in a paused state and I use the ipad for browsing, reading, etc. When I pull anchor the next morning and want to continue my track, I switch back to Navionics and it goes back to the opening page as if I've closed it and reloaded the app. (Brings me back to the "I Agree" button.). Of course at this point I can no longer "continue" my previous track an am forced to start a new one....

What's causing the app to reset and how can I prevent it?
