Default Looking for Garmin Data Programmer

Just bought a used boat that has a Garmin 3010c and need a "date programmer" or card reader for this model as it may be a bit before I upgrade. I have 3,500 numbers so manual is out of the question. Anyone have one collecting dust?

What Windows platform are you running on? I have Windows XP, 7 and 8. My Windows 7 and 8 are 64bit and they will not recognize the card programmer. Others on this forum have posted that 32 bit versions of 7 and 8 work OK.

I use and old version of mapsource and manage my waypoints on a parallel version of Windows 7 on my Mac. You have to have the power supply data cable but it works great if you gimble mount the garmin unit.

I was never able to find one when I was looking. I did borrow one from a friend, but did not have a 32bit version of Windows and it definitely won't work with 64bit versions. I borrowed an XP 32bit laptop and got it to recognize the reader, but something was wrong with the reader because it would not recognize the memory card format so I eventually gave up and upgraded to newer electronics. Very frustrating that there was no support from the manufacturer, but I guess that's to be expected with the constant introduction of new features and capabilities. Hopefully you'll get what you need to get the job done.

Yeah I can see this is going to be a problem. It's about 43 buttons to enter one waypoint so I hope I can make it work somehow.
