Default Is my FF dead? What to do before replacing?

I have a 8-10 yo Lowrance 334C GPS/FF.

It has been a great unit for me.

Last weekend, the sonar quit working. It just flashes either 0.0 ft or 4.5 ft.

I tried a soft reset twice, no help

Transducer appears undamaged and unmoved.

What should I test or do next before giving up and replacing it with a HDS5?

I would love to get another year or two out of it since it works great for my needs, but if it's dead, it's dead.
