Default Bilge Pump

I need a new bilge pump. Currently have an Attwood 1100 that has been a good pump. Thinking of upgrading to a 1500-2000. Do any sponsors here sell pumps and if so what brand and price?

Need to order tonight or tomorrow so I can have it by Thursday.

What pump brand do y'all prefer? Was looking at maybe a Johnson or Rule. What about the Attwood HD1700?

My boat came w/an Attwood HD1700 but haven't evaluated it yet. They've been around a long time and would choose it over Rule.

My preference is Rule 1500 or 2000 with an enclosed paddle switch (mercury like old Sure Bail if you can find one). My last boat had 3 1500's with nary a problem in the 10 years I owned it. I did replace one switch, though. This was a commercial boat with plenty of "stuff" in the bilge water, and pumps that ran a lot.

I just replaced a failed Atwood with a Rule 1500 in my current small boat (25').

I had 3 Johnson pumps go out on me, all 3 the shafts rusted out. Now there made in China. Used to be a good pump.

I have been using the shurflo bilge pumps for a while and they seem to hold up well.

I have seen plenty of rules being replaced that are only a few years old at my dock.

I think they have changed their specs or where they were made as the new ones just

dont seem to last. My old Rule 2000 lasted 12 years have replace with the new Rule 2000

twice in 5 years and then switched to an atwood pump and is running great now going on

its 3rd year. The atwood is only 1100 gph so I put two in.

Well if this one goes out prematurely I'll be putting a rule back in.

if you had good luck with atwood, why not stick with them? walmart usually carries atwood products so replacement is readily available

I replaced my worn out float switch with a Water Witch electronic switch; works very well. At the same time; while I was in the bilge, I replaced the 1500 Rule with a 2000gph Gold Series rule; it was the largest capacity to use the same size hose...and I figured why not. The combination works great, and really moves the water.
