Default Furuno 1870F

I am waiting for delivery of a new Pathfinder 2400TRS. I will use the boat in NC, mostly sound fishing and maybe a little nearshore fishing. I am strongly considering the Furuno1870f. Any comments or other units? Is this a suitable unit for those uses? Thanks for any input.

I use mine for near shore and Chesapeake Bay fishing. Very good fishfinder and the Cmap 4D charts are excellent. It is my primary fishfinder as I also use a TZT9 for my primary plotter and radar.

I think that you will be very happy with the unit. For some reason it always just feels good to be able to say, "yup I have Furuno"

I just had an 1870f installed on my bay boat.
After researching all the different combo units, I felt like the Furuno for the money was the best quality unit. You get the Furuno quality and service at a very affordable price. Yes you need to buy the CMap 4d for the chart plotter, but it still adds up about the same as the competition. The Cmap 4d is awesome. Easy unit to learn. I like the roto dial feature. Don't forget there's a $150 rebate offered through July.
