Default Lowrance Structure Scan

Hello.

I like to know if the HDS-8 (or HDS-10) Gen2 with Structure Scan HD (LSS-2 transducer) still support XTF recording. May anyone already use a HDS Gen2 with Structure Scan HD (LSS-2 transducer) and can give me an info, please.

I already talked with Lowrance support, but one said YES and one said NO.

I know that the HDS (Gen1) with Software Upgrade 4.1 they have the "XTF Support for Structure".
MENU:
Structure Scan > Log Sonar > Log in XTF Format.

It would be amazing if one can help me.

Thank you very much!

GERD

I have no XTF choice in my HDS 5 Gen 2.

(Menu is in Norwegian, but I guess you literally get the picture.)

Thanks for your reply.

Well, that is very interesting that the new Gen2 have no xtf support. although Lowrance-TechSuppurt told me that the Gen2 has the same (!!) features as the Gen1.

Check my Screenshot from HDS Gen1, StructureScan.

Indeed. My screenshot was pre 3.0-software. I have updated my Gen 2 now and will go out fishing later this week. I`ll check again to make sure.

No XTF on my HDS 5 Gen 2. I took a screenshot as well, if you want proof, but I'm on my IPad now.

Why do you need XTF?

I believe if you select log sonar from 2D you only get the option of logging all channels, but if you select log sonar from 3D you will see the log in XTF option. At least that is what I noticed, haven't checked after the latest release tho.

Thanks Colibri. May you can check the comment from kstakem, if log sonar from 3D that there will be XTF?

XTF is a standard file format for many softwares to make process, edit and make side scan mosaic.
At least I only know SonarTRX that make sidescan mosaik from Lowrance sl2 files. But with XTF files there are many softwares, free and comercial that let me process and view the side scan data.

It would be awesome if you or someone with a Lowrance HDS Gen2 device can aprove if there is XTF.
Unfortunately the Lowrance support cant help me.

Thank you very much!!!

The Gen 2 Touch and Keypad models record in XTF if you select log sonar from the Structure menu not the sonar menu.
