Default Is Garmin EchoMap 50dv sufficient for inexpensive shallow saltwater? Happy with it?

Hi......I was going to spend quite a bit more for a combo like the NSS8, but truth is.....I will only keep this current 21' boat for another year or so. So, it doesn't make sense to go big $$. In the meantime, I need something to find fish and bottom.

I checked out the 50dv at Bass the other day, and the 5" screen didn't bother me. I liked the Down Vu. Is this a reasonable choice for light-duty saltwater between 40-180'?

Is their included TM ducer effective, or is an upgrade recommended?

Thanks........

.
For the Garmin 50dv if you want DownVu .....

the All-in-one HD-ID™ and DownVü™ Transducer (8-pin)
Part Number: 010-12087-01

Is the only transducer offered...and it will be fine for your fishing paramaters.
