Default Garmin Echomap 50s or Gpsmap 441s

Can anyone help me out deciding between the two?

I have a 19ft Chaparral Bowrider and mainly use the boat in the barnegat bay. I would like to use this to go to different sandbars and different places to eat on the water

I also would like to get the Bluechart g2 card

All info would be appreciated

Thanks
Mike

The 50 s is a newer unit... 10Hz GPS/GLONASS receiver, the 50s refreshes position and heading up to 10 times per second.
You can also use sonar recording if you wish.

And the street pricing puts it at below $500. including US Coastal charts and transducer.

Is it true that the 50s is more for fresh water?

And it thought I read the g2 maps are preloaded onto it? I kinda find that hard to believe.

Fresh or salt water....it has 500 watts and with a quality transducer can be equally useful in either.

Maps....it comes with 3 options:
Preloaded with LakeVu HD
Preloaded BlueChart g2.
Preloaded Canada LakeVu HD

Yes the unit is available with either the g2 Blucharts or the LakeVu charts. As awesome of a network unit as the 441s is, with the 50s you have wireless capability as well, which is helpful for transferring numbers and planning routes....as long as you have an Apple phone or tablet. The graphics will be night and day different between the two as well, the 50s is much much better.
