Default Best VHF to purchase

VHF that came on my boat is shot. What are recommendation for good VHF that I will use inshore/nearshore. On this boat probably 12-15 miles offshore is my limit.

I own the Standard Horizon GX1600 with built-in GPS in Black. Wonderful unit & not expensive.

I have a S/H 1600....with a $30 rebate you can get one for not much more than $100. Good radio.

Can't go wrong with Standard Horizon. If you need a quote on a unit just shoot me a pm. Prices will depend on what features you want.

Standard Horizon GX2150 is the ticket. Low priced with lots of features like built in AIS.

Don't bother with Icom. The new Icom stuff is junk. Quality is not what it was 10 years ago.

I just went thru a search two months ago, I ended up with SH GX2000. Works great, for last two weeks been hooked up to my GPS unit via NMEA 0183 and been happy. My GPS isn't all that big nor do I fish in shipping channels, if so would have upgraded to GX2150.
