Default Let's share our new NSS Evo2 experiances

I thought this would be a great place for everyone getting the new NSS Evo2's to share their experiances. I just ordered the NSS7 Evo2 with LSS-2 and TM150. I look forward receiving it this wednesday. ( well the TM150 won't be here for three weeks)

A few things I wanted was StuctureScan, HD sounder, GPS, and fuel flow. I'm looking forward to the chirp sounder. I want to see how much better the returns are from a normal P66. Being a scuba diver the StructureScan should be fun finding new things to explore. I've been wanting to have that since I first saw some pictures. Just looks amazing. The GPS is obvious and having a carb two stroke I need to find away to keep the gas from leaving the tank so fast.

I'll be installing it on my 22' skiff with a sportjet engine. I'm open to anyone's experiances installing transducers on a jet driven hull? I'm mainly on Kerr Lake with some trips to Tar River near Greenville and Washington. Hoping to make a trip to Ocracoke this year. I already have plans to spend more time in Morehead City

I'm interested in how these things are performing. Any tips or tricks anyone finds? Post anything about them. Who decided to upgrade to chirp and who decided to stay with standard tranducers? Any thing I have overlooked that would be useful in a skiff?

I talked with a few dealers at shows this winter and I felt they were pushing a few units they brought and had good deals on. Just wasnt convinced any where what I was wanting. I made a few calls the past few weeks and after talking to Gil Travis I really felt like he was listening to my wants and budget. He has a way to explain things that makes it simple and easy. He helped clear up any questions. He picked a few units with the features I wanted and some had extra's. He told me to think about it and let him know. I said I was ready to buy now. I now know with any future electronics who my first call is.

So far I've had a great experiance and I don't get the unit till Wednesday. Thanks to Gil Travis (Semperfifishing) for being a great vendor here.

NSS9 can only be an Evo2.

I have now run both the B175C-HW and the B175C-M for a good bit of time and the B175 W was tracking bottom to 600'- 700' with the GSD26 and DFF1-UHD.

Keep in mind the depth range of a traditional SS270W (25 degree cone at 200 kHz) is rated at 330' to 600 by Airmar.

Any High frequency 25 degree cone ...regardless of CHIRP or traditional ...has about the same overall depth limitations.

Shallow water...Of course.....in my opinion...in water under 300' ... not a better transducer made than one with the new 25 Wide element.

All of the transducers listed below ...from the single element B175W to the 25 element R509C-LHW.. now have amazing range...including super capability in the High band range.

All of these have the new Wide band as their high.

B275W
Tm275W
PM275W
CM275W
B175W
CM111C-LHW
CM599C-LHW
R109C-LHW
R509C-LHW

Either of the B175H and B175 M are going to be the go to units for the Simrad and Garmin single band units.

If one is fishing a good deal both shallow and deeper down to 500' and so... then the M is what I would put higher on the list.

B275..but it does not matter....all of the units below have the same HW element and will all show the basically same image.
So no matter if it is a B175 or a CM599C-LHW..the high 25 degree band will be the same on every wide unit.
That is the great thing about these new wide units.

I'm waiting on the NSS9 Evo2 to arrive. I'll be ordering the NSS12 Evo2 in a couple days (Can't wait till June shipment). I'll post my experience. It will be connected to a TM260, structure scan LSS2, autopilot, G4 radar, RS35 radio and twin 4 cylinder Yamaha 200.

Just picked up a new NSS7 Evo2 from THT Sponsor Semperfishing! - Great price - Really fast delivery. I've only just taken it out of the box but it looks great! Gonna be a few weeks before I can get it installed - its going on my 1971 Boston Whaler 21 project boat.
