Make sure the DSM300 has power to it.Make sure the connection between the DSM300 and C80 are connected. What does the blinking light show on the dsm if you are getting power?

You can also go to menu and choose diagnostics-external devices and then fish finder.

You are getting power then just the C80 is not recognizing the unit. Shut everything down and make sure all connections are good and tight. Power it back up and if there are still problems check the diagnostics. If you also would like, you can call me with any questions tomorrow (504)281-3268

Swampro...This is why I love this site...You folks are the best...I am going to call the people that installed it less than a week ago to come fix..I picked it up last Thursday..everything worked, except my vhf antenna which they used to pull wires and did not put the coupling back on...So I brought it to them today to fix that 20 miles one way. i get home to play with my new toys and the fish finder won't work...a little upset...

Thanks for your help...If I ever (or should I say when) I buy anything in the future I will give you a call..You try to use local people, but sometimes you wonder why...

They must have it powered up directly. Is there a switch that it is connected to? The DSM300 and C80 have their own power cords. If the DSM300 is hooked straight to a constant power source it will not turn off until the power is shut down as it does not have a switch.

I would get them to check the interconnect cable from the dsm to the c80 and also ask where the dsm is powered up at as it should be to a switch.

Thanks for the kind words. I just try and help as much as I can as I know it sometimes is a pain in the but when you spend alot of money and it does not work properly.
