Default Yamaha 150 ignition problem

I have a 2007 Yamaha 150 4 stroke. The ignition switch is intermittent, once off and I try to restart, it may take 6 or more tries before it connects, and when it does, it shuts down my Lowrance GPS. Tried spraying the connections, but problem persists.

You have an F150TLR or F150TXR.

Sounds like more of an electrical connectivity issue than a switch or ignition issue. Remove and clean every connection between the starting battery and the motor. Positive and ground side. A green scotch brite pad works well.

This presumes the battery is in good condition. Almost any auto parts store will load test it for you.

Start by doing a voltage drop test however to confirm the issue.

Are the battery cables that go from the engine to the battery, junction post, switch, OEM Yamaha?
If so, I would imagine your V.D.D.T. will show that those need to be replaced.
