Default Using a King (Bendix) AP2000 autopilot -- Help!!!

This is an update of a previous thread -- I bought a used 1989 boat with a similar vintage King (Bendix) AP2000 autopilot and a couple of other related accessories...an IA3000 control unit of some sort and a "remote dodge unit". Lot's of nice stuff, but I don't know how to use any of it! Can anyone help? Ideally I'd like to find an owners manual for these systems if anyone might have one. I keep checking on e-Bay, but no luck...yet.

(I have photos but couldn't figure out how to enclose them here. I could e-mail them if someone thinks they could help.)

Thanks,

Jim

Perhaps that is because it is not a Simrad pilot.

I know it's been awhile since you posted this, but I'm in the same boat with an ap2000 that came along for the ride. I have figured out that the basic operation of the auto pilot and the heading sencer is that you steer the boat in the desired heading and engage the lever on the side of the unit and the unit should maintain the heading. Reading your previous posting it sound to me that you do not have sign from the sencer.
I have the IA3000 interface but do not have the wire harness so I can not tell you much more than that.
Let me know if you would decide to part it, I may be interested in it for parts.

That "update" was an 2005 post by the OP.

(But I did install that early recreational boat simple AP2000 (& remote) on my old SeaCraft 23 back in the late 80'S & used it a lot. )

Note the list of related posts at the bottom of this page.

LORAN A, Karl? That was "fun" to use.

I hear the reintroduction of the Yugo may have those as onboard nav devices. In the whole trunk.
