Default Thoughts on the Garmin 3005c.....

Anyone have / use the 3005c? If so how do you like it?

I'm sending back my problem ridden 198c and am thinking of replacing it with the 3005c.

THANKS,
Bill

seems like the xm weather service is the reason to get the 3005c...
if you don't want/need that i would stick to the tried & true 182c/188c

How is the depth sounder? What kind of depth can you get with a transom transducer?

Ive seen 1000 feet with a transom mount ducer on a 188C, The GSD-20 will be able to go that deep and more when the gain and noise rejection is set correctly. Its all about the proper mounting and setup.

I cant find the MAP pricing guidlines for the units, its about $100 less than it was. It's still cheaper than a 3006C network bundle.
