Default Gamin 3010C vs Furuno Navnet VX2

My GPS display is the most important unit to me(in relation to sounder or radar). I have the 2006c right now but with a new boat coming I am pretty much sold on moving to Furuno Navnet VX2 system with NT+ catography. However... the Garmin 3010C looks great(haven't seen the Fuurno VX2's yet). Have any of you done any comparisons and if so what do think?

Furuno! Big difference in radar and sounder performance.

sorry I should have stated if I went Garmin for gps I would still stick with Furuno for radar and sounder. But how do the GPS's compare?

Good point.
If you want to go with Furuno and Garmin it would be a great setup as you would have two full gps units. Great for safety reasons.

The Garmin gps units are very easy to use as that is what they are well known for.

I would look at the Navnet with bbff1 sounder and then the Garmin for standalone plotter.

HDGWJOE asked...

IMHO... The Garmin Bluecharts and the Garmin color displays are first rate and would be my first choice for the GPS/chartplotter. Furuno is top shelf in the radar and sounder arena, but their chartplotters are second place behind the Garmin units.

If you went with the Garmin chartplotter, then Furuno for radar and sounder (using the Furuno NavNet chartplotter as your backup), you'd have the best of all worlds!

I went with the Garmin 3010C XM Weather and a Furuno FCV-582L... I tested the Garmin radar on my boat and found it to be VERY accurate..
