Default waterproofing stereo advice needed

I need a waterproof something to house a stereo in the center console of my ranger bay boat. I installed a stereo with a poly planar splash guard but the radio got fired anyway. I'm not sure where water is getting in but the radio was soaked from rain water. Its probably running down from the instrument panel from the inside.

So now I'm thinking of getting a waterproof enclosure to waterproof the entire thing...anyone done this or have any advice?

Thanks

John -

Can the Poly-Planar WC-400 enclosure be flush mounted or does it have to use the gimble mount? I'm wondering how heavy it is. Does it dissapate the heat very well? Looks like it may be a decent solution.

Thanks
Jeff

Damn, I was trying to find the pic of one I flush mounted. The Seaworthy one fits better!

I'll try to find a pix of the seaworthy. I'd hoped for the polyplanar to flush mount.

Thanks

I'll post this again here for other's to see.

My neighbor had the problem of water getting in his. It had the flip down bubble cover too.
I redid it for him with a new cover that was sealed better. The I added a piece of 3/4in thick Starboard. This was installed above the radio. I added little sides to it also. It acted just like the bill on a ball cap. When the water would roll off the top of the console it would go into the radio before. Now with the bill over it it sheads the water.
