Default garmin blue chart bathymetric charts

anyone have any experience with these?I have been trying to find good contour maps for fishing in the gulf and have not been able to so far.How detailed are the wreck and bottom info?I would like to be able to some some research at home prior to going out and find some decent look areas to try.thanks

IMO, they are not worth it - no detail and only work on certain zoom settings...not for me - I returned the chip...

I absolutely love mine, the bathy chip shows holes, lumps, and ridges that arent on many charts (and are actually there) One thing I dont care for is on certain zoom ranges it takes off things like wrecks. IMO it was worth every penny, I have a few good spots I never would have found without the chip.

I have the NE canyon chip. Its great detail shows much more bottom detail than the reg chip, I feel that it has provided valuable info for my offshore fishing trips

not enough detail? Wow, if anything, zooming all the way there is TOO MUCh detail, without depth readings along side it is a maze of contours. At least its true for the mid Atlantic canyon chip
