Default RADARS which one to buy?

now that I have picked up my world cat 266sc I need a radar.I had a raytheon 10x on my old mako and liked it.I have been looking at the furuno 4kw dome units 1731 model.
any of you guys used one of these before? I will be running my boat in the chesapeake and going tuna fishing out of ocean city, md.Any feedback on any other 2kw or 4kw modela or makes would be great.
thanks, doug

I would also look at a used unit as well as a used 406.

I just asked this question. Check it out. Seems like Raymarine, Furuno or JRC is the way to go.

The Furuno model you are giving is a CRT screen and harder to see in the sunlight. I am not saying it is a bad radar, just not great for an open boat. Take a look at the Furuno 1715 if you do not want color or the Furuno Navnet or Raymarine C Series if you would prefer color.

JRC seems to give the most value for the money. Also their customer svce is excellent.
