Default Vhf trouble

Hey guys, yesterday i was out, was heading back to dock, and we ended up finding and towing a broken down vessel in with us. As we were trying to talk with the vhf...we were able to talk to each other in the begining, but then about 20 minuteds later the other guy couldnt hear us. we could hear him though...we have 2 radios aswell, and neither worked. so is something up with the other guy, or is something messed on our boat?
Thnaks!

You didn't give your location. Were you anywhere near the Bermuda Triangle?

If neither of your radios could hear him, the chances are pretty good that his radio has a problem. To test, have a conversation with someone else on your radios.

If the other guy had his radio on high power, there's a good chance that overpowering you caused the condition. At that close range the radios should be on low power.
