I'm interested in knowing as well! I'm not sure I want to be the guinea pig on this gimmick before a big holiday boating weekend, but I might get froggy when I get home. I'll post results if I update.

Doesn't say any thing about the tide issues, paint issue, or white stripe issue.....what's the point? Or am I misunderstanding the descriptions?

Going offshore in the morning. I'll wait till I hear a couple of reports before updating what can't be undone.

Hey boatinng brothers! Update 2.0 worked like a charm today. I had no issues. I ran all day with the new update and it painted better...I would not go as far as to say it was perfect but it was obviously better than before. Only thing is I did not pay attention to tide spots. I will check on that tomorrow. The downlod takes a while, much longer than I expected so be prepared to sit and wait for the download.

I ran mine all weekend last weekend with great results...keep forgetting to check for the tide spots. If anything the update is worth it for the paint, white stripe, and other performance issues. I will check the tide spots this afternoon....heading to the boat show!

Are they planning an engine or floscan update?!?!? That would really interest me! Hell, I'd settle for just floscan.

One of the new features that I am using is the Fish n'Chip with my new navionics NAV+ chart. Used it and it is giving me more ares with alot more bathy. I will also chek on Tide stations today.

yes the tide chart works although its pretty small worst thing is that you lose all your waypoints or at least I did

Does the tide info work with the base packagel or do you need the gold package.

Needs to be the gold package for tides to be available.

It worked for me. I would recommend three things. 1) Back up your way points. With an update like this it is just a good precaution. 2) Use an "empty" memory card for the update. I have seen past posts where it people were using their maps card and adding the update to it. It seemed like it caused a lot of problems. I have had none out of the last two updates. 3) Be sure you have a full charge on your battery. This is probably unnecessary but I also have read lots of posts where the problems were related to low voltage.

Overall I have been happy with my Elite 7 and both updates. I mainly fish lakes so I have no experience with the tide charts but the rest of the unit is easy to use and a great value. That being said I doubt they will add full NMEA 2000 support for fuel flow and such. If they did then I would not already be thinking about getting an HDS touch on my next boat.
