Default NSS 7 settings question

I don't know if I didn't set things properly or what, but when I'm running it doesn't show a "trail" of my route that has already been done - my old Humminbird would show a nice long line from my starting point to everywhere I've been during the day - I guess we'd call that a track?

Also, on the Trip Log, do you have to reset it each time you start for the day? My trip log for "TODAY" just shows the total miles I've put on the GPS since I got it, but doesn't specify anything for today. And the TRIP 1 shows accumulated as well but not for the trip I just took -

Go to the Utilities (or Tools, I don't know the wording used since I don't use English language on mine). Select the Waypoints, Routes and Tracks Icon, go to the third tab which is Tracks. Here you can switch on and off visibility of tracks, change color and start new tracks.

I don't use the Trip log.

After looking it over again I did see the tracks, but the color was white and was very hard to see against the background - I'll see if I can figure out how to change the color/appearance.

In tools/waipoints routes and tracks you can change the color.

Maybe handy to put the manual in pdf on the nss then you have the manual always at hand.

I looked through the manual and nowhere (pdf or printed) did it have instructions on this. But Simrad replied to my query and I think I have it now.

I have not played with the TRIP LOG but have extensively with TRACKS. I have saved quite a few tracks for different areas I frequent where shallow water, obstacles, etc may be in the way like down in the keys or over in Crystal River/Salt River. I may only visit those places once a year but now I have the tracks saved through the shallows and I know they are safe routes.
You do access the TRACKS in the tools tab, then can adjust/change your TRACK options and functions from there.
