Default Garmin GXM 51 Weather and Audio XM Satellite Receiver

I'm thinking of buying this for my 5212 dual screen radar/FF/GPS set up, and wonder if anyone has it and what their opinion of the features are. It does seem awfully expensive, yet the information it provides, as well as access to the Sirius/XM radio service, is appealing.

I bought it this season for my dual 5212 setup. It works as advertised - at least for precipitation - and I couldn't be happier. Good news is I haven't needed it to save my ass but I know how to use it if needed.

Returning from the canyon last weekend, we saw that we would be hitting rain showers as we approached the coast and were able to prepare (was great offshore).

Expensive is relative - this can be a life saver.

Installed it last year.
It's saved me a few times this year out 100mi+ being able to plot a course around incoming fronts & major storms.
@ $47/mo with XM Radio as much as I fish it's well worth it.

Can any of you tell me how useful you find the sea surface temperature info?

Useless on my 5212 - just not enough granularity. Then again, maybe someone else will weigh in and I can learn.....
