Default Cp450c users thread

I see many threads on the competition but little about the cp450c - is the unit that good that no one is talking about it or is the market penetration that limited?

Please share your experience and views on the unit should you have experience, please share your problems if you have such.

Thanks! (From this prospective buyer who is a dedicated rm user)

I just had the transducer for this sounder flushed into my new boat that is being built right now. I am also having the transducer for the CP100 flushed in so I can display the "downvision" technology displayed on my MFD. I am excited to see these in action and to hear any feedback as well.

How are you getting the CP100 transducer flushed in? I thought they only sold a transom mount transducer?

Default CP450C issues

Not sure if this is going to be an ongoing issue or not, but there are 3 instances so far when a software upgrade caused the transducer to stop working. I am hauling my boat today to replace my transducer that was installed 6 weeks ago and stopped working. I just installed 20k in raymarine electronics and this is frustrating to say the least. Not sure if it is a coincidence, but to have 3 transducers all have the same problem and need replacement seems odd. Airmar is not aware of any issues with their transducers. Search the raymarine tech forums.

Other than that, the CP450 paired with the B265LH 1kw transducer has been great. The clarity of bait fish and fish is amazing. Usually fishing in 100-400 feet of water. I fish mostly offshore for tuna. I am sure there is some fine tuning to do, but been great until it stopped working. Just hoping the new transducer doesn't go again at $1500 to haul/replace.

RM just came out with new transducers for this technology that can be flushed in during the build process. The transducer I am going with is the CPT120

Unless I'm much mistaken they have announced a few different options for the cp100 including twin thru hulls but I understand they will not work for the dragonfly.

Not sure why they would do dual thru hull, they are both down looking.

What's more annoying is I found a dual version the other day inc a price of about 1100 but now can't find it again - will go back through my browsing history and see what I was looking at...
