Default Who has updated their software on a furuno 587

I purchased a FCV 587 and TM260 last year and don't have the current software to use the bottom discrimination and accu fish feature. I am looking for input on how others have updated their units; sent it to Furuno, took it to a authorized dealer, or did it on a personal PC. I want to avoid a long delay on getting the unit back so please let me know what the easiest way to do this is. Thanks.

If Furuno USA handles the software fix they normally have a turnaround of only a day or two.

The other advantage of the correct software is that you are now only firing 600 watts if your FCV587 software is V1.05....when you go to correct V1.02 you can then fire the full 1 kw.

Thanks for the quick reply Gil. I bought the 587 from you just after it was released, so I got one of the V1.05 units. Can you point me in the right direction to find out the instructions for sending the unit to Furuno to be updated? Thanks

One more quick question, since I had the transducer selection on the generic 1kw does that mean I was still only firing 600W?
