Default Customer Service Done Right - R.J. Marine Group

Just wanted to give R.J. Marine a quick shout out. As a little background, I bought a Cobia 237 a few months ago and had the electronics installed by R.J. Marine Group in Stuart, FL (Garmin 7212, GSD 24, Airmar B60). On Sunday, August 18, I was getting ready for a Bahamas trip and doing an in-water run through on the boat, electronics, and safety gear. While looking in the bilge, I noticed some moisture around the through hull transducer. I dried it up and then took a another look after about 15 minutes and the moisture returned with a drop of water around the base. Tried this one more time, with the same result.

Well the run through went great, but this one little issue with the transducer bothered me. Small holes can turn into bigger holes, and I didn't want any problems during my first crossing or while I was in the islands. So I called RJ Marine the next morning and they said no problem, they'll send out someone to look at it later that morning. I asked what their hourly fee is if they found a problem and they said no charge. They let me know that they install hundreds of transducers a year and don't ever really have any problems. But if there was a problem they would fix it no charge.

They dunked the boat and didn't see any leaks. But just to be safe and for my piece of mind, they went ahead and rebedded the transducer. They even came back out the next day, Tuesday, to check that everything was sealed up. On Thursday we made our way over to West End and had 4 great days in the Bahamas with "no problems mon!"

It's awesome to see a company stand behind their products and service. They have now made me a customer for life!
