Default basic fishfinder/chartplotter purchase

first, I have searched and read umteen post asking the same question. Most replies go off topice. So, I have a 20 ft CC, fish off shore in So Cal for YT and BFT, also around Coronado Islands for bottomfish, ect. I am looking at the HDS gen 2 with side scan. But, I am looking at over $2k. I dont really need all the network stuff.

Here is what I need, gps/chart, fish finder, water temp, thats about it. Keep it simple but want high resolution, maybe $1k to $1500 max. Any help please.

thank you

"Simple..high resolution.."

The new Garmin 547xs CHIRP with a TM150.
You will be at your $1K budget and have a state of the art single band CHIRP sonar.

Another option.. Garmin 740s...at $845. well within your budget.
