Default Garmin 2206 question

Hey guys
Just got a 25 mako as a college graduation gift. I am looking for a used electronic on the cheaper side. I've come across a pretty good deal on a garmin 2206. My question is if I get the unit along with a gsd22 can I run a 1kw ducer?

From the Garmin specs for the gsd 22 and it's list of compatible devices which includes up to 2000 watt T/D's and the 2206, it would appear the answer would be yes.

You would be better off with a Garmin 740s model. I know its a few more bucks, but it can't be that much more than the Garmin 2206 used + GSD 22 used. Just saying, its a newer unit, larger screen, touch screen, etc. It is also easier to install as it has an internal antenna (vs. 2206 external) and the sounder is built in. Just connect a power and ground and your transducer wire, done.

If its only $200-300 more, no brainer.

I have the Garmin 2006c with gsd20 and would upgrade to the 740s in a heartbeat! The 740s is light years ahead in technology and performance and although I love my 2006c I will be upgrading soon.
