Default Loading Navionics Gold Chart to Humminbird 998C

I recently installed a new humminbird 998C unit on my boat. I purcharsed the Navionics Gold Card for the Gulf on Mexico/SE United States for it. i tried to install it last night and in the upper right corner it would say loading chart but after it finished there still wasn't contour lines or any depth lines on my chart. It doesn't appear that the chart loaded correctly. I tried it in the left and right slots but got the same. Anyone else have any problems with this?
Thanks.

I haven't had any problems with the various chips that I've used but couple things come to mind:

Have you made sure your unit has the latest software loaded?
Under the set up tab, make sure user mode is set to advanced.
Under the chart tab, map borders should be set to MMC/SD, spot sounding should be set to visible,
If these don't work, you may want to hit the restore defaults under the set up tab and start over.

Hope this helps...

Thanks. I'll try that. I hope it works. I'm getting a little disgusted. I upgraded from a Lowrance 113CHD and I'm not really happy with my humminbird yet. I can't seem to get my transducer mounted in the proper position. I lost the bottom and depth readings if I get over say 20 miles an hour. Also the waypoint marks are a lot bigger and the screen just seems so jumbled up.
Anyway, thanks for your reply.

Turn on waypoint decluttering... Makes things far easier to read
