Default Furuno/Garmin Transducer

Hi guys,

I currently have an old (but good) Furuno FCV 582L. Does anyone know if I can use it's current thru hull transducer for my Garmin GPSMap 4212? The frequency on the Furuno is 50kHz/200kHz and I have no idea what the Garmin requires.

If this is not compatible, any recommendations for the 4212? It is for a 31' open Contender.

Thanks a lot,

Luke

Yes..you can use it....does your Garmin have as sounder black box?....If so..your Garmin most likely has the GSD22.
You will need the Furuno to Garmin adapter cable.
If your Furuno is using a 10 pin the the adapter is ADAPT-10-6DTV2.

If however if you do not have a GSD22 and wish to step up to the GSD24 than you can still use the Furuno transducer because the GSD24 comes with an adapter box.

Excellent. Thanks for the quick response. I don't have the "black box" yet so I will most likely invest in the GSD 24.
