Default lss1 to lss2????

got a new boat all outfitted with simrad and have been a bit underwhelmed with the returns on my structure scan. unfortunately an lss1 was put on (instead of an lss2!!) is it worth it to upgrade to the lss2 module? I don't want to change the ducer. simrad says the returns are "30%" better. anyone have real world experience? don't wanna deal with the upgrade if its not a significant improvement. thx

No, it's not worth upgrading the module only. I have a new complete LSS-2 package, but I'm not sure it's worth the work to swap. DownScan is better with LSS-1, SideScan is better with LSS-2 (this is valid for complete LSS-1 and 2 systems)

I too was disappointed with my early results, I fish salt water 50 to 100'. The problem for me was that I left in the default 800 khz frequency, the lower 455? is much better for salt and my depths.

However, it is of very little use in a medium to large swell or in rough water, nor is it of any use at all above about 10 knots.
