Default Raymarine A50D power-up issue

My A50D has trouble turning on initially, when I first mount it and attempt to turn it on for the day.

It will turn on, display the warning screen, and either turn itself off, or turn itself off as soon as I hit the mandatory "OK" button, or flicker for a while (as if turning on/off repeatedly).

Seems that if I put up with this long enough by keep attempting to get it to finally settle in powered-up, then it is okay for the rest of the day/night.

What I am worried about is that I have a 2 week vacation coming up and experience tells me these things do not go away on thier own, sooner or later it will refuse to turn-on or refuse to stay on. Do any places rent units while one is out for repair?

Anybody have any thoughts as to what might be going on here? All connections have been checked, cleaned and greased. At first I thought it might be a voltage issue where it is not seeing 12 volts until the engine is running then it sees 13-14 or so. But this is not the case. Even with the engine running and the volt meter reading 13-14 volts, the unit behaves the same way. It appears to be the unit.

With a 2 week vacation coming up, the easiest route would be to replace - flat rate repair on the A50D is $450, a new unit is $450, seems like a no brainer.

Thanks, this saved me a lot of money. The item is for sale many places for much more money. They claim it should arrive in just a few days.
