Default Garmin 545 and XM Weather??

Hi All -

I posted this question in the BOE forum, but thought I would copy it here in case someone checks the Marine Electronics Forum that doesn't check the posts at BOE.

I have a Garmin 545 on my 2008 Boston Whaler 170. I bought the unit new when I bought the boat. I have had XM Satellite on the 545 since 2008 when I purchased the unit.

The XM antenna is a Garmin XM 31.

The unit has worked perfectly for years. Today I was not able to access XM Weather. When I click the "Information" tab on the menu of the 545, there is no tab to click to go to "Weather" at all.

If I hold my hand over the XM 31 antenna, I get a pop-up message on the screen of the 545 that there is no XM Signal, which seems to indicate that the 545 was receiving a signal from the XM 31 until I covered it with my hand.

What will I need to do in order to access the XM Satellite Weather on the 545?

Thanks for any advice/suggestions.

Update - I reset the 545 to factory settings, reloaded the Garmin updates to the 545, and called Sirius/XM to have the account reactivated - in case something had happened with my account there.

Bottom line - no weather.

If I cover the XM 31 antenna with my hand, I still get a message that I lost the satellite signal. If I pull the center plug from the 545, I get an onscreen message "Weather Service Lost." The combination of these events indicates that the XM signal is going into the 545, but for some reason the 545 shows no weather input until the signal is interrupted.

I'll update again if I find a solution.
