Default FF/GPS together or seperate?

I am getting ready to buy a 2300 Bay Ranger and I am having the Dealer install a thru hull transducer is this a wise choise?. The problem is I like what I have read about the Raymarine C70 with the DSM300 for the Digital FF capabilities for the Shallow waters of Northeast Florida and the Navionics CF for the Lakes that I fish once or twice a year. But I have read the Garmin 198 is a pretty good investment as well (Dealer recommended this one). Both are single units and I am thinking maybe 2 seperate unit would be best if I ever want to upgade or if one breaks. I'm thinking about doing the Raymarine DS600 FF with In hull Ducer, and then going with another brand or seperate unit for GPS. I don't need the GPS that often for finding my way home, it just great to have to mark fishing spots and a peice of mind when going in an area that is not familiar. Any suggestion? I am trying to watch my budget as well. I had a Garmin 240 Blue and 162 GPS on the last boat. The 240 Blue didn't impress me much and the mono chrome on the GPS well I will pay extra for the Color this time. Any comment or suggestion will help.. Thanks

Also DSM300 600w or 1000 watt thru hull ducer should I go with.

Or the Raymarine 435I GPS/CP & the DS600X. That's what I have. Terrific package ...... Cant go wrong with a Garmin either. Might look at the Garmim 192C GPS/CP best price I've seen on that 719.95. Comes with preinstalled Blue Chart package. Enjoy the new ur new ride.Tom
