Default HDS and NSE CHIRP Screen piccys

I have quite a lot of members sending me PM regarding wether the HDS Touch units works with Simrad BSM-2 CHIRP or not. So instead of sending out pictures to everyone, I want to save some time, and put them up here instead.

Bear in mind that some of these early pictures were taken using a Lowrance HDS-12 touch pre-production unit, and I can see a huge difference in lack of interference, and improved performance from the Pre-production, to the "normal" unit :-)

Out cruising and having a look at the ship MS Villon that sank on the Baltic Sea during a storm 1986. Unfortunately the weather was a little too rough to get the best quality screen shots, but still pretty decent, and I like them :-)
First five NSE-12 screen shots:

And then five Lowrance HDS-12 Touch run CHIRP and Structure scan/downscan.

According to the new Navico brand strategy, the Lowrance brand shall cover fishing from entry level to high-end, HDS Touch BSM-2 support seems to be what to expect from such a strategy.

I think until we have a better definition of the difference between sportfish and fishing is it is just speculation.

Sportfish is not including deep sea fishing according to the Navico rep I talked with today.

Well, it's 50/50 if you get a good rep at any given show. If the odds are that good.

Thanks for posting, very interesting. Which transducer is the BSM-2 driving? It looks to be one of the low/medium range since you do not have any higher frequency shots.

Great shots; I am adding struture scan to my system now. It will be new to me and I am excited to try it out.

Yea, it seems your frequency range is very low for such shallow depths? Is that correct for your transducer?

thanks for posting

Hello Hatwell!

On the structure scan pictures I am using the old Lowrance LSS-1 transducer, so nothing fancy.
The CHIRP transducers that I am using now is Airmar B175L/B175M. I´ve not had time to install my B75H yet.
Will do that installation, and hopefully also a TM270W sometime the next two weeks.

You are going with B75H instead of B175H?
