Default Lowrance Elite-7 HDI transducer question

What is the "best" transom mounted transducer for an Elite 7-HDI to be used in FRESHWATER? (Primary application would be for salmon trolling in Lake Michigan). I would like a dual frequency 'ducer. By best, I mean should I go with the OEM 'ducer from Lowrance or get an Airmar 'ducer instead?
Thanks.

I believe you are at least going to need the OEM for downscan.

Right-O. To use the Downscan Imaging feature you will need the OEM transducer. If you are not interested in Downscan the unit will accept all the popular Airmar transducers for HDS.

This is the Down Imaging transom mount that comes with the combo unit that would be best. If not wanting down imaging then get the 83/200 HST-WSBL-TM.

Will I be able to see my downrigger balls on the 83/200kHz or should I go with the 50/200kHz for that?

Couple of things come into play, such as transducer placement, depth of weights, amount of current.....you get the drift. That said I see mine all the time.

You are going to love it!

Here's a tip for you......make sure you use the riggers on the same side as your transducer.
