Default ACR ResQLink 406 MHz GPS Personal Locator Beacon

Does anyone have any feedback or recommendations for one of these? I was thinking about a regular size epirb, for my 18' boat, until I saw this...

Get the PLB and wear it on your boat and other boats you use

EPIRBS are better suited for larger boats

ACR is a very good company; the ResQLink is an excellent GPS enabled PLB. As above, buy one, and keep it on your person when necessary, is better than a Larger EPIRB you cannot deploy, or fails to deploy. If crossing ocean--then both one full size EPRIB and PLBs (for each crew member).

Agree with the above. The ACR is a good unit. Make absolutely sure you register it with NOAA and throw it in your ditch bag.

Since it is registered to you and not your boat, you can use it hiking, hunting, etc. Good tool in the toolbox.

ACR is running a nice promotion right now. You get the 406 service free for a year plus a free first aid kit and a few rescue items............

Get both but get EPIRB first if you can't afford both.
