Default difference between flir m and md series?

i had a flir m324xp on my previous boat and loved it. i plan on installing a flir camera on the new boat. is the only difference between the 2 series in the ability to rotate the camera? am i better off buying a md 625 over a m 324 and saving a few grand. i never panned from side to side and always pointed the camera forward. id be willing to pay the xtra cash for the m series if the peripheral vision was different forward facing over the md series. appreciate the help!

yes, new MD series can not pan or tilt

MD has optional control (for zoom and color etc)

other specs the same as compared to same similar model (resolution) in the M series
