Default Garmin 2010c

Any insight on how I can update this thing? I'm trying to decide if I should try to sell it or keep it. The maps are a far cry from what I have on my 526s.

I have the same one....my charts are exactly the same detail as a captain seagulls chart....but from what I've seen, there's no way to update it anymore, unfortunately.

Garmin brifly produced a two card set of charts for the entire East Coast. If you could put your hands on them, you would be as up-to-date as humanly possible. I think someone could make a living providing charts for these 20 year old GPSs; many of them still work.

But just think how much the world has changed since those old charts were published; channels have wandered, islands sunk, bridges and breakwaters have come and gone. Millions of acres of water have silted up since the Corps of Engineers' dredging budget has withered away. Hurricanes have resculptured even things we thought were immutable. And Maine is still growing rocks....

Maybe you should get a current box.

I just prefer the fishing charts on the new models compared to the navigation charts that are on this one. Screen size on this thing is a definite plus though. I might just install the 526 on the dash and keep this one too, but that would be putting me at 3 plotters/fish finders. Lol

I don't really use it for much navigation, I don't think they update the charts for Honduras very often anyway.
