Default Navionics Platnium

I have a Raymarine E7 and am considering purchasing the platnium plus charts, Does anyone have any experience with these charts. Are they worth the extra money or will the Gold do. Thanks Anyone have any screen shot they would like to share?

You can compare the features here: http://www.navionics.com/en/marine-charts.

But as with any "Is it worth it?" question, only you can make that value judgement.

FWIW- I believe some have reported noticeably slower refresh rates when switching from Gold to Platinum chartware. No idea whether that would be the case for your chartplotter.

Don't know about gold, but I love my platinum. It was worth the money IMO.

Platinum will not slow the e7 down, it has three processors, one dedicated to the graphics. There is no wait on the redraw.

Maybe Raymarine C97 could learn from the e7 then. When I use overlays on the C97 with Platinum Plus - it slows down redraw quite a lot. But maybe it is the lower resolution of the display that does it.

Those new e series machines really take advantage of the feature set that Navionics puts out there. As was mentioned, the redraw on these plotters is outstanding, as is the rendering of all chart/overlay detail.

With Freshest Data (overlays and photos will be updated regularly) and the impending release of the all-new SonarCharts layer...I think going with Platinum+ is a no brainer.

Default Platinum Plus

Thanks to everyone that replied, just got of the phone ordering, was not near as expensive as I thought it would be. I appreciate you expressing your opinions and experiences.
